In today's world, an online presence is an essential part of any business, artist or organisation. The internet gives us access to a huge audience spanning the entire globe. But what will that presence look like?

In this course, you will take on the role of digital media designer, director and developer, as you create an online advertisement for your chosen business, artist or community group, with the purpose of promoting their activity or product to their target audience. This could be delivered as a commercial, music video, short documentary or show reel.

You will use the digital technology skills and processes available within film media to design and develop promotional materials for an artist, activity or group within your local community.

You will develop a digital media outcome within a film context, using film editing, animation and production processes. You will manage the development of your digital media outcome using project management tools and techniques.

The way we use technology and what we use technology for has rapidly evolved over the years, creating new jobs, opportunities and study pathways. DTC (Digital Technology) classes have in turn evolved beyond word processing, and typing skills and have begun to focus on developing students understanding of decision making, programs and software used in film production, crafting plans/proposals, seeking stakeholder feedback and using it to inform their design process, as well as testing locations, actors, methods, cameras and software and evaluating their fitness for purpose.
