Level 1 Game Development (DTG101)

The course selection for the current academic year is complete. Online course selection is not available.

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: D. Tennent

Don't just play games - create them!

In this course you will explore a new digital game development platform and learn a range of programming techniques in that environment, eg. variables, conditions, loops, sprites. You will research existing games and develop a proposal for your own original game.

Then you will apply the design process to develop a game design that is fit for purpose. You develop the game through an iterative process of decomposition, trialing and testing the individual components, so that it's a really high quality outcome.

You will also learn about Human Computer Interaction (HCI). You'll evaluate user interfaces and learn how to create the ultimate user-friendly digital experience.
