WOW202

Level 2 World of Work - Work Ready Passport (WOW202)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr T. Baxter.

Leaving school and being work ready does not have to be as challenging, confusing and worrying as you think. This course will help you to develop the skills and knowledge needed to successfully transition into the workforce or further study.

Explore your options and develop a plan.  Refine your CV, become job search savvy, ace an interview, understand your rights and responsibilities, and develop the confidence to assert yourself.  Mastering these skills will help you to become work ready.

During the year, you will also have the opportunity to participate in one of the school’s GATEWAY programmes, gaining valuable work experience and the opportunity to earn up to 22 additional credits.  To be eligible for GATEWAY you will need a strong work ethic and excellent attendance.  Selection is by application and interview.

Current GATEWAY programmes include The Warehouse Red Shirts in Schools; Warehouse Stationery Blue Shirts in Schools; Countdown SEEDS; Farmers; Healthy Futures; Grenada North e-Store; HOSPO Ready; Noel Leeming Passionate Experts in Schools; and ProMed Health and Safety.

All units of work are internally assessed and contribute credits towards NCEA Level 2.
