Course Description

Teacher in Charge: K. Baird

This course will be assessed against the national achievement standards with credits gained towards NCEA Level 2. The course covers key aspects of ancient Greek civilisation: The Trojan War and the history of Greece; the literature and ideas of Homer; the leadership and rebuilding of the Acropolis under Pericles, Athenian public sculpture and architecture, and the relationship between an aspect of ancient Greece and an aspect of modern life through Margaret Atwood’s Penelopiad.
