This Social Sciences course explores accounting, economics and business studies concepts and models to make sense of how society operates and solves problems. For example, how groups are financially interdependant and how their decisions affect each other.
Learning and assessment will examine Maori, Pacific and European approaches to commerce as well as Maori business concepts.
Level 1 Commerce is a foundation course which will enable students to gain knowledge and skills needed to undertake Level 2 Accounting and Business Enteprise (ABE202) and Level 2 Economics (ECO202) in Year 12.
This course will offer 1 external standard and 2 internal standards.

Term 1
Term 1 will focus on organisations decisions and how they are influenced by values and how decision impact stakeholders.
Term 2
Term 2 will have a business studies focus.
Term 3
Term 3 will focus on the external assessment which requires engaging with stimulus material based on a case study.
