Year 10 Religious Studies
Course Description

This course builds on what students have learnt at Year 9 and prepares them for NCEA Level 1 the following year.
Students begin the year by exploring the Teachings of Jesus and reflect on what those teachings might mean for us today. In Term 2, students explore the concept of Sinfulness and reflect on ways Catholics have sought to improve their world through Catholic Social Teaching. This is followed our new topic - Heros of Faith in Aotearoa in term 3. We will look at those individuals who had a huge impact on our countries history and on our faith. Finally, students explore the concept of journey in relation to key religious individuals from a range of world religions, including Judaism, Buddhism and Islam.
