Level 1 English- Collateral Damage (ENC101)

ENC101
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: A. Bell

“We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy” – Albus Dumbledore. Often we think of the term ‘conflict’ on a large scale: wars, battles, fights. But some of the hardest conflicts that we will ever have to deal come from within ourselves. In this course you will study texts that are based on internal and external conflict. Making and creating meaning will occur as you explore why people have internal dilemmas and what causes conflict between people. You will also learn effective ways of dealing with conflict as you learn about history and contemporary issues through language and literature.

This English course contains 10 internal credits and 8 external credits. You will be internally assessed on Formal Or Creative Writing as well as Text Connections and Close Viewing. The external assessments are on Written and Visual Text.
