Course Description

Teacher in Charge: J. Chote

This is a compulsory course that offers one Level 3 Achievement Standard. The topics are designed to continue to deepen the students’ knowledge of the Catholic Church and the world, and their place and responsibility in both. The topics covered are: Building Self Esteem; Sects, Cults and New Religious Movements; Bioethics; Mary - The First Disciple; The Role of Women Through the Ages and Making Meaning. Some time is given to work on leadership at the beginning of the year. The Level 3 Achievement Standard is “Analyse the response of a religious tradition to a contemporary ethical issue.”
