Course Description

Design and Visual Communication (DVC) focuses on product and spatial design. You learn how to design a product and how to design a building using drawing, sketching, modeling skills and digital skills. You learn the drawing techniques to communicate your design visually to show the development of your idea. You get to use the 3D printer to print our your design ideas to test to see if it works. You learn to develop research, analyse, and problem solving skills. DVC encourages creativity and to see your ideas represented on the page.

Topics range from:
Jewellery design (product), one bedroom apartment (spatial design), drawing skills and digital skills.

You will be assessed on: freehand sketching, rendering techniques (make something look 3D on a page), development of your idea and promotion of your design (graphic layout).
