Year 13 Modular Programme (Full time course)

Course Description

This full time programme aims to prepare girls for a successful transition to work or further study. Those who work diligently have the ability to achieve NCEA Level 3.

Students enrolled in 13MOD follow a separate programme. They attend school 4 days a week and WelTec one day a week.

In school students study Retail (28 credits), Tourism (19 credits), Communication English (16 credits), PE (15 credits), Digital Technology (15 credits) and Religious Studies (15 credits). All units of work are internally assessed.

At WelTec students participate in a variety of taster courses such as Hospitality, Barista Training, Restaurant Services, Health and Beauty, Hairdressing, Tourism, Business Administration, Painting, Masonry, Automotive, Brick Blocks and Landscaping, Animal Care etc. The selection varies from year to year, based on student interest and availability.

Students must apply for entry to this course and attend an interview. Applicants are expected to have a strong work ethic and an excellent attendance record.
